Worst Drought in 60 Years Is Causing Massive Famine in Kenya, Ethiopia and Somalia … Reports the UN and G-20 Group of Nations

LA MIRADA, CALIF. – NOVEMBER 9, 2011  – The most severe drought in decades is threatening the lives of more than 11 million people, especially young children, in the Horn of Africa, Kenya and Ethiopia, as reported by United Nations 2011 - Report on Horn of Africa Famine and the New York Times on October 27, 2011.  Many lives are being severely affected by the crisis, with millions in critical need of food and water, reports state.

Resulting complications of the famine have diminished the food being delivered to ByGrace Trust Children's Home by about 65 to 70 percent of the daily supply food needed to feed the 40 orphans and vulnerable children who live in the children's home as well as the 50 additional orphans and local children who eat daily at the school.  Many of the children have been orphaned as a result of the HIV AIDS pandemic and further affected by the terrorist war currently raging between Kenya and Somalia Rebels/Militia.

ByGrace Trust is struggling to feed its orphaned and vulnerable children.  With help and support from people worldwide, the organization can continue to meet the food rations needed to keep these children fed.

1. Sponsorship: You can choose to sponsor a ByGrace child or encourage someone to sponsor. Sponsoring ensures that the child is assured of food (and education) for the long term- even after the current food crises.
